Pioneered by the National Center for Families Learning, Parent and Child Together (PACT) Time® happens whenever and wherever parents and their children make time to learn together. This quality one-on-one time not only supports learning and development, it enriches the relationship between children and their parents. PACT Time can take many forms, from reading together at bedtime to cooking a meal, wondering aloud on the hiking trail to visiting a local park as a family.

Family Trails inspires families to learn together through adventure in the ultimate classroom: the world around us. When parents embrace PACT Time, they support and extend their children's learning beyond the classroom, setting them up for greater success in school and in life.

{love is the flower you've got to let grow. ~ john lennon} when N was 3 and R was a newborn we had the best summer. really sweet and magical. for two summers after I tried to recapture all the feels of that summer and couldn't. it took longer than it probably should have to figure out why..... drumroll pls... we were different. we had changed and grown. they were 4 and 1, then 5 and 2. I realized that every summer, every season, would look completely different than the last and I had to let myself be open to that change. that not knowing. that growth. and I had to embrace it. so here I am... just watching us grow. there is a tear or two in the quiet moments for what has passed but so much joy and happiness in the present, along with excitement and a healthy dose of fear and trepidation for what is ahead. wherever it leads, wherever we go, I'm thankful to do life with these people. my tribe. my favorites. for better or worse. always and forever. #wholeheartedjournal #whyimthankful #honestmotherhood
