A Message from Family Trails
One of the things we've heard over and over from the Trails community is how every adventure leads to something new: a new memory, a new learning opportunity, some new inspiration for the next great adventure.
Koch Family: Wildlife Refuge
I try to take my children outdoors every day. I am a stay-at-home mom of 20-month-old identical twin girls and a four-year-old boy. We love getting out in nature, especially here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. But let's be honest, I can lose my mind being cooped up in a house all day with three little kids!
Daley Family: Moving Together
I was devastated when I learned that we would be moving from a small, French village near Paris to Washington back in the U.S. I was happy for the opportunities we had ahead of us, but had a tough time saying goodbye to a country I had grown to love during our time there.

Diop Family: Beach Adventure
This adventure was SO much fun. It started with a picture I had seen, but I wasn't too sure of where it was located. I had a general idea, so we loaded the kids up in the 4Runner and headed off. On the way, we talked about our plan and watched the mountains looking for the one we were trying to find. We parked and started hiking down the beach.
Haskins Family: Calloway Peak 2
My oldest and I hiked the Profile Trail to Calloway peak many months ago, and ever since then I've been really wanting to get my wife and youngest up to see the views here. However, hiking to Calloway Peak is no easy feat for a four-year-old! In fact, these trails aren't even meant for children. But we were eager to see how they would do, and what better way than to head out on the trail and test the waters?
Bean Family: Yosemite
While exploring Yosemite last weekend, our kids learned more than just the park's significant geological features, but also a look at the history of the Ahwahnechee people. It triggered a lengthy conversation with our seven-year-old who has a passion for history.
