There were so many incredible submissions to our July theme, Make a Splash. Thank you to EVERYONE who participated! Moving into August, we're changing up the format of our monthly photography challenges. Read to the bottom of this post for more details on how to participate!

First and foremost, our photo challenge hashtag is changing. Previously, we asked you to use #FamilyTrailsTales to submit to the monthly theme. Starting in August, each month we will announce a NEW hashtag that coincides with the specific theme. Our theme for August is "Local Treasures."

This is a chance to show the community what you love MOST about the place you call home. There are countless experiences available right in our backyards - get creative and share them with #FT_LocalTreasures!

Because we have been happily overwhelmed with the quality of submissions, we will now be picking four participants each month to receive FamilyTrails swag. Each swag recipient will be announced on Thursdays during the theme period. We will then feature a round up on our blog at the end of the month.

The most IMPORTANT part: in order to be considered to win, you must follow the new instructions written below.

Instructions:

1.) Post your theme photo from a public account between Monday, August 1st and 11:59pm EST on Wednesday, August 24th 2016. There is no limit to the number of entries each account can share and tag.

2.) Use #FT_LocalTreasures and #FamilyTrails in your original caption and tag @FamilyTrails in the photo.

3.) In your caption, include a few sentences explaining how your photo relates to the theme.

You must follow the above rules to qualify for the prize. Swag recipients will be chosen based on the post's adherence to the aforementioned rules, image quality, caption quality, and overall creativity.
